Most recently the property was run as a combined beef and dairy farm and in 2001 the family exited the dairy industry to focus purely on beef. In 2017 Sarah returned home to help run the property and kicked off Just Been Laid pasture raised eggs where the chicken business is run as a compliment to the beef business.
Sarah's brother David is also a farmer and runs urban farms across Newcastle. His business is called Feedback Organic. Feedback runs a closed loop farming program where cafes, pubs and restaurants give Feedback their food waste and Feedback converts that waste into compost. Once converted, that compost is then used back on the urban farms across Newcastle which grows fresh produce for the original cafes - hence the closed loop.
